When you’re a Mum, some mornings, some days are harder than others. How you start the day, or rather how your child starts the day, and how much sleep they have allowed you to get, could dictate the rest of the day.
You are a little at the mercy of their mood.
Today, Mrs T has been a bit of a handful – waking up early, whinging and demanding entertainment (it isn’t even 9am yet)!
Then, out of nowhere, they do something that melts your heart, makes you smile, and you think “I could never be angry with you”.
Today, she was proving difficult to amuse. She got bored of the Jumperoo, breakfast, her toys. So, we hang out on her mat and play with her baby sensory ball – passing it back and forth (actually mainly me passing it back to her).
Then, she just picks up the sizeable ball and lifts it up to shoulder height for the first time. It’s hardly Olympic worthy but in my eyes, she deserved some kind of medal. I was experiencing that ridiculous parental pride which bubbles up at the smallest of achievements.
We should try and keep these precious moments in mind when we experience those harder days…and breathe.
I got all emotional reading your post. I don’t know whether its because I completely relate to your day to day (the jumperoo to the mat, to the bouncy chair to the toy box) or that i’m completely exhausted. Either way it made me kiss my babies head as he sleeps next to me. They do rule our day, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Renee @peonieandme #bestandworst x

Oh Renee, you got ME all emotional reading your comment. Thank you. They have their moments and can drive you crazy but they are just so precious. xx
Aw bless her! I remember days like that when Emma was younger. I find them easier to deal with now, maybe because she’s a bit more independent and happily runs around playing on her own. Lovely post x #bestandworst

Thanks! I’m glad I’m not alone. They definitely get easier – especially when they can actually TELL you what is up with them.
This post is so simple, but so spot on. I have been doing a lot of deep breaths this week…possibly due to a lack of sleep thanks to my teething 10 month old, or possibly because its week 5 of summer holidays and my 3 year old still has a week till nursery starts again. Either way, they can bring me back to unconditional all consuming love with the littlest of something back. Lovely read x MMT #bestandworst

Thank you. Sometimes it can be hard to keep cool and calm with our beloved little ones – especially when there is teething involved – it’s the worst! Good luck with the rest of the summer holidays! x
Aww bless her! It is so wonderful when they do something new, my daughter at the moment is really trying to crawl and she’s not even 5 months old yet, I do want to slow down time…..thanks for linking up to the #bestandworst and I love the picture at the bottom!

Thank you. It is wonderful – and so many when they are younger! I can’t believe she is trying to crawl already – that’s a game changer! Thanks for hosting #bestandworst xx
