Shopping Trip: Who’s A Big Girl Now?

Today Mrs T graduated from the reclining baby seat affixed to shopping trolleys, I can barely see over, to the proper children’s seat at the front of the trolley. From this picture I THINK she enjoyed it.

But then, providing it doesn’t take too long (I have around 40 minutes before the whining starts) she rather enjoys the supermarket. For most of us it is a pretty dull and uneventful event avoided whenever possible, especially at weekends when you try to zip around as fast as is possible in the packed supermarket, shoving stuff in your trolley like a contestant on supermarket sweep. Not so for children Mrs T’s age.

Think about it – there is SO much to see! All those shelves filled with row upon row of different objects of various sizes, so many bright lights, a big metal contraption to be wheeled around in and plenty of people to STARE AT -including children. That is Mrs T’s new fascination. Not staring – she’s been doing that for a long time now. No, she loves children. She’ll smile at them, watch them and talk to them, babbling away to the extent I just want them to talk back so it doesn’t look like she has being rebuffed. There are always plenty of children at the supermarket so at the moment it gets a thumbs up from her.

I've always loved to travel so when my two daughters came along, I didn't stop. Travelling as a family can have its ups and downs but I love showing my children the world and helping others navigate travelling with children in tow.

  1. Happy and proud face there Mrs T! Millie “graduated” to the big trolley too this week, but forgot to mention it to James and only came up tonight when he mentioned he’d struggled carrying her around the supermarket in her car seat this evening!?! x

    1. Haha. Poor James. Cal uttered the words “It’s really hard work going places with them – You don’t just sit around the house all day” after a trip to the supermarket. Love how Millie & Mrs T are thousands of miles apart but are still on the same page.
