As a family who loves to travel to warm destinations and a three-year-old daughter who adores the swimming pool, having good quality swim wear is a top requirement for us. They certainly get a lot of use! So when we were asked to review an item of clothing from Trespass, I opted for one of its girl’s swimsuits for my daughter.
As an outdoor clothing brand, Trespass has everything you would want for activities such as camping, skiing and hiking, like fleeces, waterproofs and ski jackets – for all the family. But I hadn’t realised they also do swim wear for both adults and children, including wetsuits.
We put the ‘Karis Floral Swim Set’ to the test during our two week holiday to France and Italy which involved a fair bit of pool time. One of the reasons I chose this particular item was because it contains purple, my daughter’s favourite colour (which she very much appreciated). I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived as it looked a lot better in real life than it did on the website and she looking great wearing it.
Over the last few months Mrs T has become a rather discerning fashionista and can be picky about what she wears. We have had a couple of meltdowns over clothing (I really have to put my foot down about tights in the summer and thin summer dresses in the winter). Fortunately, she had no objections to donning the Trespass swim suit – a ringing endorsement.
The Karis Girls Floral Swim Set is a purple and white two-piece suit with a geometric pattern and is striking to look at with pentagon shapes against a white background (giving me the opportunity to teach her a new shape). The top part is crisscrossed at the back keeping it in place and it fitted her well with a frilly white panel along the top. The bottoms had frills on the edges giving it a feminine look.
My daughter has only worn one-piece suits in the past but, as I was to discover, there is a distinct advantage to the two-piece version…going to the toilet! Sometimes they can leave it to the last minute, can’t they? Then there is a mad dash to reach the toilet AND take off the wet swim suit. It can get messy. Having the knicker part separate made a big difference. If only I’d had grasped this concept and had the swimsuit last year when we were toilet training her…it would have saved a lot of hassle and tears.
The swimsuit washed really well in the machine and after swimming I would just rinse it under cold water. Despite being in a very chlorinated pool, there are no signs of discolouring on the white, just a tiny bit of wear and tear on the bottoms where our daughter had been sitting on the rough edges around the side of the pool.
With my daughter just about to turn four, I ordered her size 3/4, but she is very slim, especially around her bottom and hips. Although the top fitted very well, the bottoms were a bit baggy and she did have to hitch them up a few times. I’m sure they would have fitted the average 3/4 year old fine. Although being slightly big, the bottoms didn’t come off in the water, despite there being much pool action: jumping in the water and playing on giant inflatable swans (yes really!). On the plus side, because it is a bit bigger and good quality, at least it will last through to next year.
Overall, we were really happy with the product, particularly my daughter, ticking the fashion and quality boxes. Normally on sale at £19.99, Trespass currently has a sale on its swimwear and other items with 50% off which an absolute steal! Well worth checking out.

What a beautiful swim set! It looks really gorgeous and I hadn’t actually thought about getting to the toilet being such a benefit for a two piece but you’re completely right! #BloggerClubUK
I know, I hadn’t either until we tried it out! Thanks for stopping by xx
What a gorgeous swimsuit – I don’t think I knew Trespass did those. And two pieces are definitely the way forward, I think. I love the floatsuits we have but trying to wriggle her out quickly is no fun.

Yes, I had no idea they did swimwear. Two-piece suits are the way forward!
I love Trespass clothes as they’re a great mix of sporty and fashion. Your daughter looks very cool in her suit. Great idea for the two piece as well. Looks like she had a great time. Tor x #BloggerClubUK
Thank you! She had an amazing time (but when a swimming pool is involved it’s not hard). Was impressed with the range from Trespass.
I didn’t realise Trespass did swimwear either. This is very cute – good modelling Mrs T! Tin Box Tot is in two piece swimsuits at the moment. She’s another one who leaves comfort breaks right until the last minute!! 🙂
