Mrs T had FINALLY moved into her own bedroom. At seven and a half months old, it is a bit overdue (the NHS guidelines say six months) but for one reason or another we put it off. To be honest, we’ve quite liked having her with us in our room.
Some people move their children out of the room very early – when they are only a few weeks old- a lot of the time because they find them too noisy. But Mrs T has always been a pretty good sleeper and because she is little didn’t make too much noise creaking the moses basket. We also found the snuffling sounds she made when she was young quite endearing.
It was reassuring, knowing we could easily glance over and check she was alright. It was also quite a nice bonding experience and very convenient for feeding her.
But, Mrs T seems to has taken to the new sleeping arrangement rather well. Look how happy she is.
It has probably bothered my husband the most. He reckons he keeps waking up in the night, worrying about her and going to check on her. I haven’t been quite as bad although I had a mild manic at 5 o’ clock this morning because she had been so quiet. She was fine.
Getting our bedroom back has been a bit of a revelation. Without her crib there, we have space! So much space. Plus, we no longer have to tip toe inti the room when going to bed. We can also read a book or magazine and watch TV without being worried about waking her up.
