Buying gifts for friends and family is something I rather enjoy and I always strive to find something a bit different or unique. But I am also becoming increasingly conscious about where the products I buy originate from and how they are made. As such I am always on the lookout for more socially responsible companies who are also champions for sustainability. Every little bit we can do must help, right? I recently came across Uncommon Goods which ticks a lot of boxes for me and also has a wide range of fantastic gifts.
The company is working to make sustainability a part of its decision making and has a ‘green’ commitment. Uncommon Goods also makes an effort to feature products that contain recycled components and don’t sell anything containing leather, feathers or fur as part of its commitment to sell no products that harm people or animals.
But what about the gifts? I was impressed to see they have a HUGE selection of gift ideas from anniversary and wedding presents to unique birthday ideas and, one of my favourites, personalised presents.
I like far too many of the gifts to name them all. I could spend a LOT of time on the site! I will just mention a few of my favourites, such as this gorgeous Cherry Blossom Snow Globe. It would certainly help keep me going in the depths of winter with the promise of spring around the corner!
The eco-friendly toy trucks caught my eye too. Made from reclaimed sawdust and bioplastic, they are not only good for the environment but the parts are interchangeable so great for children’s fine motor skills too.
Then there’s a scratch map which is always a favourite in our house and I rather like the bag below which is hand embroidered by Fair Trade artisans in Vietnam and the convertible teal bag made from fishing and construction netting in Cambodia.
If you were looking for a personalised gift for that special someone, this sky line picture caught my eye. If there is a city which has a special place in your heart then this could be the gift for you and your partner.
Each product has a brief about the people behind the brands. Some of their stories are pretty inspiring! So next time you want to shop with a conscience, check what Uncommon Goods has to offer.
*This is a sponsored post but all thoughts, love of unique gifts and a desperate longing for the spring are all my own.
I’ve actually been shopping with this company for quite some time! They have some really fun products!

Oh fab! They really do, I’m so glad I’ve found it.
It’s a great thing that companies are making eco-friendly products which can help us negate the ill-effects of rampant consumerism!
