Mrs T pulled out all the stops for Cal’s first ever Father’s Day. Granted, she may have had some assistance from Mummy but she certainly showed she has potential in the art and craft department, making this card for him.
She also got him a book entitled My Dad which he is going to love reading to her and a gorgeous pair of cufflinks with a imprint of her hand and foot on them and her name. It was actually a gift from Paul’s cousin who set up this brilliant business, Littleprints Jewellery.
He had a great day, coming after a whole weekend looking after Mrs T as I went away for two whole nights for a hen do. It was really tough leaving her but easier than the first time I left her overnight. Now she is older, eating normal food and more interactive it is easier for the Dad to take on more responsibility. Fortunately, I had a very action packed weekend catching up with lots of my friends so my mind was kept busy and I didn’t miss her TOO much.
That said, it was obviously amazing to see her again on Sunday (I think Cal was pleased to have me back too). Holding her in my arms again felt very right.
We spent Father’s Day together again, as a family (his parents were also down from Yorkshire). Cal showed off his cooking credentials preparing a delicious meal of slow cooked pork (he reckons he had lot of time to work on it after being woken up at 6 in the morning – slightly smug that she didn’t let him have a lie in while I was away).
Hilarious! Benefits of early starts, eh Cal?!?
