It has been quite a diverse week for me and I’ve got to see a few places in and around London which I wasn’t familiar with. Earlier this week my youngest daughter and I went for a water confidence lesson with Fusion at Lewisham Leisure Centre – a fantastic space in south London and a great lesson too. Although only four-months-old, she thoroughly enjoyed being in the water.
On Saturday I went to the Family Travel Show at London’s Olympia and came away with plenty of travel inspiration with the likes of St Lucia and northern Norway now firmly on my travel wish list. Then on Sunday, we left the city behind and headed into the English countryside in Buckinghamshire. Stunning.
I hope you have all had a great week! For this week’s City Tripping I am going back to one of the countries I felt very inspired by, Sri Lanka. A wonderfully diverse and interesting region. In today’s post I look back at our trip to the most important Buddhist building in Sri Lanka, The Temple of the Tooth – once we finally managed to get in!

What Is City Tripping?
City Tripping is the place to come and link up your city-related travel posts. We want to find out the best of things to do and see in the city, any city in the world, whether you are travelling as a family, a couple or with friends or it’s your home turf. It could be a day out, a review of an attraction, long weekend or sharing your best insider info and hidden gems – as long as it is city-related travel.
How To Join In
– Link up one post – old or new.
– Please add the City Tripping badge to the bottom of the post or link back to either Mummytravels.com or Wan
– Posts must be about your travel experiences in a city – any city, from reviews of days out to longer breaks.
– Please share the linky love and comment on the two hosts’ linked posts and at least two others which take your fancy, using #citytripping so everyone knows where you’re visiting from

I’ve still got so much to write about Sri Lanka but so great to cast my mind back and reminisce when I do.

I love that she enjoyed the water. I have a water baby, myself. My (almost) one year old son has loved the water since birth- sometimes getting visibly angry when we take him out. Thanks for hosting!
