City Tripping #38

The summer holidays are here and it feels like a ghost town where I live as everyone has upped and left to head to warmer climes. The quiet roads are great for getting around in the car but not so great if you want people to hang out with! In central London though it was a different story. This weekend the streets were bustling with families seeing the sights and enjoying the various activities the UK capital has to offer. I do love my home city but I don’t love quite so much having to navigate the London underground with two small children. We got a few dirty looks for taking the pram on the escalator but if there is no lift what else can we do?

Thanks to everyone who linked up to City Tripping last week. We had so many fantastic posts from across the globe – I am learning so much about different cities. This week the linky is over with Cathy at MummyTravels. Our top picks from last week were…

Bicycle Tour Of Soweto – Emm In London
Taipei With Kids – A Million Little Echoes
Naples Discovered Through Five Senses – La Brutta Figura
Spirituality In The Baha’i House Of Worship – Passport Couture

Check them out if you haven’t already. As for our top commenter, last week Bumble Bee Mum was on a roll – clocking up 18 comments on City Tripping posts. Well done!

As well as sharing and commenting on your posts, we will also be pinning them on our City Tripping Pinterest board so if you need any more city inspiration, be sure to check it out and follow our Pinterest board featuring past posts. Let me know if you would like an invite to pin on the board.

What Is City Tripping?

City Tripping is the place to come and link up your city-related travel posts. We want to find out the best of things to do and see in the city, any city in the world, whether you are travelling as a family, a couple or with friends or it’s your home turf. It could be a day out, a review of an attraction, long weekend or sharing your best insider info and hidden gems – as long as it is city-related travel.

How To Join In

– Link up one post – old or new. This week it is over with Cathy at MummyTravels

– Please add the City Tripping badge to the bottom of the post or link back to either Mummytravels.com or Wandermum.co.uk – the badge code is below

– Posts must be about your travel experiences in a city – any city, from reviews of days out to longer breaks.

– Please share the linky love and comment on the two hosts’ linked posts and at least two others which take your fancy, using #citytripping so everyone knows where you’re visiting from

– Every week we will give a mention to the blogger who has commented on the most posts linked up to City Tripping

– Tweet us your links @wander_mum and @mummytravels along with the #citytripping hashtag and we will retweet to our followers

– We’ll be sharing your posts elsewhere on social media – we’d love it if you wanted to follow us there too: Wander Mum (TwitterFacebook, YouTubeInstagram and Pinterest) and MummyTravels (TwitterFacebookInstagram and Pinterest)

– The City Tripping linky will go live every Tuesday morning until 23.55pm on Thursday and will alternate between MummyTravels and myself. We’ll be sharing our favourites every week too.

I've always loved to travel so when my two daughters came along, I didn't stop. Travelling as a family can have its ups and downs but I love showing my children the world and helping others navigate travelling with children in tow.

  1. The summer holidays do have positives and negatives don’t they. The bus that I catch to work is often late during school term. Now it is on time or early and minus the high school children 😉
