My home city of London was alive with activity this weekend for the Queen’s 90th birthday. Across the country people celebrated with street parties – including us. We wandered down to our local party (after the rain had stopped) and we enjoyed the sense of community such events evoke. It was an important show of how inclusive and wonderful humankind can be on a weekend blighted by horrific events in Orlando, Florida and the actions of some at the European football championships in Marseille. My thoughts go out to all those affected.
But lets focus on the positive side of city travel. If you have written about a city visit recently then join the City Tripping linky which I run with Cathy at MummyTravels. I am sharing my trip to Parma in Italy.
Thanks to everyone who linked up last week. Here are our tops picks.

What Is City Tripping?
City Tripping is the place to come and link up your city-related travel posts. We want to find out the best of things to do and see in the city, any city in the world, whether you are travelling as a family, a couple or with friends or it’s your home turf. It could be a day out, a review of an attraction, long weekend or sharing your best insider info and hidden gems – as long as it is city-related travel.
How To Join In
– Link up one post – old or new.
– Please add the City Tripping badge to the bottom of the post or link back to either Mummytravels.com or Wan
– Posts must be about your travel experiences in a city – any city, from reviews of days out to longer breaks.
– Please share the linky love and comment on the two hosts’ linked posts and at least two others which take your fancy, using #citytripping so everyone knows where you’re visiting from
– Tweet us your links @wander_mum and @
– We’ll be sharing your posts elsewhere on social media – we’d love it if you wanted to follow us there too: Wander Mum (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram

They are great, aren’t they for building a bit of community (and getting to know the neighbours too). Thanks for linking up Rebecca!
I have form for missing royal celebrations – I missed the Jubilee in 2002 as I was in the South Pacific, and the birthday celebrations in California. Then was pregnant and not very celebratory for the last Jubilee! Looked fun from the photos though.

Haha – almost a similar experience to me. I was in Canada in 2002 and pregnant in 2012 as well. Managed to make it in this year although didn’t dare brave the weather (or crowds) to go into central London
Sorry I am missing CityTripping this week. We have another wave of visitors which means I’m on entertainment officer duty. Looking forward to catching up on all the posts though!
