I can’t believe how good Mrs T has been today as we made our way home from the Alps.
First of all, she fell asleep in the car on the way to the airport. Then she happily sat in her pram as we checked in and waited an extra half an hour for our delayed flight.
We were VERY lucky to get a spare seat next to us. The staff at British Airways kindly let us put her car seat on it and we put the wheels of her travel system in the hold.
Mrs T seemed to be in her element as she sat in the aisle seat, grinning at everyone walking past as they stopped to smile and coo at her. We were the first to board so she was getting a lot of attention!
As I usually do when flying, I fed her on take off and landing (she had to sit on my lap anyway and wear her special seatbelt). We didn’t had any tears or problems with the change in pressure.
The flight was only around an hour and a half and as we landed she amazingly fell asleep!! The bumpy ride as we came down on the runway seemed to help rock her to sleep and she woke up just as we pulled up outside our house and got out of the taxi. Almost seamless.
The only minor issues I had to deal with was her filling her nappy -a lot – just as she had finished smiling at the other passengers coming on the plane. It was a good job I had a change of clothes handy and put her in an older/cheaper babygrow (always essential when flying with a baby).
Then, just as I put her down to bed she projectile vomited all over herself- never seen her produce so much sick! She seems absolutely fine but required another bath, new clothes, sleeping bag and mattress cover. Poor thing- am thinking I may have overfed her on milk – can’t think of another explanation.
Oh, a separate issue, our kitchen is still not done! No idea what HAS been done while we were away- looks the same! Apparently, some units which the kitchen company had to remake only came today!
