15 Tips To Survive A Trip To Peppa Pig World

For our daughter’s fourth birthday, we took her to Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s Park in Hampshire (read about our day here). She had a great time at the ‘home’ of her cartoon idol but it may not be YOUR idea of a great day out. I really enjoyed seeing her happy and sharing in her excitement. That is priceless, right? Here are tips for visiting Peppa Pig World – to make it enjoyable for the whole family.

Peppa Pig World Tips

1. Best time to visit Peppa Pig World?

It goes without saying but try to avoid the school holidays. We visited Peppa Pig World in  August during the summer holidays. It was pretty busy with around a half an hour wait for the main rides.

2. Arrive early

Get to Peppa Pig World early so you can have a full day (and get a decent parking space). You may even get the chance to explore some more of the Paulton’s theme park.

3. Leave popular rides until the afternoon

If you can resist, wait until the afternoon to go on the main rides such as Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Flight, Peppa Pig’s Ballon Ride and Windy Castle. This may be tricky as it is the first thing your little ones will see when they arrive.

Peppa Pig World’s busy times seem to be in the morning (we got there around 11am and it was peak time). But it does get quieter in the afternoon. If you can distract your little ones with some of the tamer rides (the boats had no queue) or the soft play then go on the main rides later on – there will be less queuing. It got noticeably quieter around 3pm.

4. Prebook tickets

Book your tickets online to will get the cheapest price. It will save you time when you arrive too as you will get quicker access to the park.

5. What to take to Peppa Pig World?

Come prepared for your trip to Peppa Pig World. Pack a sunhat and sunscreen if it is hot and umbrella/waterproofs if raining. There isn’t a lot of shade when queuing for rides. We went on a very hot day and could feel the heat. Snacks and food will also come in very handy.

6. How to skip queues at Peppa Pig World

If you are a family of four or more and able to split up, you could skip the queue. Many people want to stay as a family but consider going on different rides at the same time so there are less people. You can also agree to sit in different carriages.

My hubby was able to legitimately queue jump as there was only two of them AND they didn’t mind going at the back of the carriage on Miss Rabbit’s helicopter ride. They still had a great time! To queue jump all rides at Peppa Pig World, you can purchase a VIP Paultons Park package at an additional cost.

7. Bring swimsuit and towel

There is a Muddy Puddles Water Splash Park which is open seasonally. Take a swim suit and towel to avoid disappointment.

8. Take your own food

To cut down on costs, take your own packed lunch. There are plenty of food stalls around Paulton’s Park but are quite pricey on top of the tickets and not worth the inflated prices.

9. Have a coffee break

If you are in need of a pick me up (or an excuse to escape for a bit), Daddy Pig’s Tummy Cafe does a decent coffee. We went with a baby in a pram so took some time out in the shade to enjoy a drink whilst the baby was asleep.

10. Fairground stalls cost extra

Be wary of the fairground stalls in Candy Cat’s Games Kiosk. Some look easy but they really aren’t! We spent £2 on a game where you had to throw a ball into a hole. Easy peasy, right? Nope. It was a very bouncy ball, came right out and our £2 for two balls lasted about 20 seconds. We left empty handed.

11. What age should you take child to Peppa Pig World?

Consider waiting until your child is old enough to remember a day trip to Peppa Pig World – and not be scared on the main rides. Overall, do you really want to go again?

12. Consider the following when you make a decision about what age to visit the Peppa Pig World. There are height restrictions at Peppa Pig World and Paultons Park. If your child is under one metre, they go in free. Children under one metre are able to go on all the rides in Peppa Pig World although there are restrictions on the other rides in Paulton’s Park.

Each child is different with height and fear factor. Personally, I don’t think there’s much point going when they are under three. Remember, you still have to pay for the adults’ tickets so if there are two of you, it’s going to cost around £50 just for the entrance fee. Worth weighing up. We paid for my daughter as she was over a metre and perhaps we could have gone a bit earlier but I know she will remember the day so there’s no need to rush back.

13. Don’t forget phone battery charger

Take an external phone charger with you to top up your phone. You are sure to be taking a lot of photos and videos of the momentous occasion (as I did) so you battery is likely to run low.

If you do forget – or don’t have one – there are phone charges to use in the Peppa Pig World soft play area. You can pay to charge your phone, at the low end, £2 for 45 minutes phone charge. Your phone is left in a locker and you can return back when it’s ready.

14. See Peppa and George

Find out when Peppa Pig and George are doing their appearances (the times will be shown at the area next to Madame Gazelle’s School House). I saw them (when I sneaked off to have my coffee) but the girl who mattered, Mrs T, was in the queue for windy castle with her daddy at the time. Peppa and George were treated like celebrities as they shook hands with families and got selfies. I resisted having mine taken but was sad that Mrs T missed out.

15. Gift shop

There is only one way out of Paulton’s Park…through the large gift shop! Come prepared to spend a bit of cash or hurry them through so they don’t get the chance to be distracted by the array of soft toys and merchandise!

Enjoy your trip to Peppa Pig World! My daughter had a great time and was keen to return again when her sister is older.
